What do I find but an article I've never seen before on the filmmaker and collector David Bradley and his work at MGM. I've been researching this cat for over a decade and never knew of this article. Proof that historical research is more than what's online and who knows when you'll find something.

The power of synchronicity when doing research. I randomly purchased the April 1952 "Popular Photography" from eBay for a project where I'm tracking the number of companies that were selling commercial films to the home market. This issue is not digitized as far as I can tell.

That picture is from the U of Colorado Boulder campus and it symbolizes that I am starting there next month in the Department of Cinema Studies and Moving Image Arts. I'll be teaching classes on media preservation and such.

A co-worker setting up the 16mm projector for today's screening of the Marx Bros film "The Cocoanuts" to celebrate all the new additions to the public domain. A full house! And the amazing folks at the Arkadin Cinema created special drinks for the day!

Cool retro-futuristic library logo. Libraries are, and have always been, cutting edge.

Attended two of the three Will Hindle screenings curated by Tone Glow. Watersmith was the masterpiece - late 60s swim meet with erotic longing meets the psychedelic freekout of 2001. 16mm prints courtesy of the great Canyon Cinema.

Attending the Film Restoration Essentials for Small Archives workshop at the 2025 AMIA conference. Digital restoration is powerful but dangerous.
