As we see ANOTHER huge drop in the cost of curing tuberculosis, I am reminded that 1. drugs are not expensive because they're made of platinum or something, and 2. the fruits of activism are often harvested over many years. Thanks to all the folks who made this happen. www.stoptb.org/news/breakin...

At least there are trees.

When I was younger, I thought trees were a big stupid waste of time except insofar as they provide us with oxygen.

Now, when I am sad and on the edge of something worse than sad, I think, "At least there are trees."

Experts estimate USAID cuts are leading to 88 deaths PER HOUR. A UN office called these “the deepest funding cuts ever to hit the international humanitarian sector.” If funding isn't resumed, they estimate an additional 10 million cases & 2 million preventable deaths by 2030: tb.impactcounter.com

I may be tired and a little hoarse, but as I said again and again on the Senate floor, this is a moment where we cannot afford to be silent, when we must speak up.

Sen. Cory Booker's speech on the Senate floor went for 25 hours and 4 minutes.

His final words: "Let's get in good trouble, my friend. Madam President, I yield the floor."

As a young person, I needed to see a grown up pushing back against everything. Thank you, Senator.
I’ve taken the Senate floor and will speak for as long as I’m physically able to lift the voices of Americans who are being harmed and not being heard in this moment of crisis. Watch here:
