Step 1 of writing: it's going super well, the words are flowing and ideas are fresh.

Step 2: rethink your plot, your structure, your phrasing, your life choices, your decision to wake up today.

Step 3: realize it's fine it's just a first draft

Repeat until book is done

Guys, I know you all still cling to conspiracy theories about Merrick Garland bc ... well, you watch too many TV lawyers who knew fuckall about the investigation.

But this is a fact. A trial was scheduled to happen 3 years after Jan6, just like Bolsonaro got.

Who killed it? John Roberts.

The Fourth Island by Sarah Tolmie

This is a very poetic book, and has a different structure than I'm used to. It's more a character and place study, though there is a timeline. But it is mostly about the back and forth between the islands and their people.

I love showing old movies to my partner because he shares such. Interesting insights into how he thinks old movies work.

We watched 12 Angry Men the other day and he asked me "which one is the devil?"

Thought he was speaking metaphorically. No, he really thought one would be revealed as Satan.

Colbert will be all right, maybe even better off. The world's his oyster and I'm sure MSNBC and Netflix will come calling. He could stand up the biggest late night YouTube channel in days. But they are just torching the Late Show, an institution, solely to appease a dictator. And that fucking sucks.

I'm not used to engaging in book communities. I always considered reading a personal hobby and I'm sure there's a lot of social decorum that's lost on me. Good to meet other writers and readers though.
