Retired lawyer, Philhellene, wannabe philosopher but still just a philotheamon. SF Bay Area, Greece (Μεσσηνία), Michigan. Interested in the Rule of Justice, FoE, disestablishment, Mediterranean cultures & history, and defeating fascism and the Confederacy.
I offer this teaching video to Ron De Santis and his Florida teachers for their “classical” curriculum gender lessons. Watch to the end. This is a second century CE Roman copy of a second century BCE Greek original.

NO KINGS. This 1885 painting by G.F. Watts of Mammon, cruel in his opulence and cloaked in gold with asses’s ears and gold coins on his crown, money bags in his lap, skulls on his throne, and persons callously held down by him, seems a near-perfect likeness of Trump as he would wish to be seen.

In Venice for the Biennale. A good place to contemplate the transitory nature of empires and world power as well as the pretexts and harms of religious crusades.
