Just turned off my to not disturb to find texts from 5 different people about the new pope. My favorite was “hoping the new pope is just you in disguise.” This Peruvian American religion nerd feels seen 🙋🏼‍♀️

Moved by the legacy of a religious leader who speaks with and for the oppressed.
A Pope Who Prays for Palestine
Pope Francis, who is in daily contact with Gazans, has consistently called for an end to the Israeli assault and for Palestinians and Israelis to be able to live in peace.

I see my work as very small in the grand scheme of housing access and vulnerability to climate change, but I’m grateful to have been given a space to do it

it's funny to see angry canadians using the same xenophobic arguments about marginalized americans that republicans use about latino immigrants. "why can't they fix their own country" "why aren't they helping themselves" "we don't want them here" "they should stay there" "why don't they fight back"

I'm reviewing applications for our Science IRL grant. The application pool is stupendous with a lot of fantastic & frankly weird ideas for how to connect people w/critical science info.

I want to be able to fund more than we currently can. Wanna throw a few bucks at the pool?

Proud to be a Philadelphian today.
BREAKING: Philadelphia workers have won the first Whole Foods union under Amazon with UFCW.

Since Amazon bought the chain, workers have lost benefits and felt the squeeze.

Now they're fighting back against the multi-trillion dollar giant and hoping this win will be the first of many.
