TIL: codex doesn't inherit your env variables set in your shell, so any tool invocation won't work if it relies on the presence of a set env variable 🙄

tip: prefer CLI tools when available, instead of MCP (not the case of Context7, I know….) look how much context they take
August 30, 2025 at 6:38 PM
This is a brand new Claude Code session.

28% of the context is already taken by MCP tools (Sentry, CircleCI, Context7, Atlassian), without even asking any questions.

Don't add MCP tools when a valid CLI alternative is available.

TIL: LLMs available through GitHub Copilot are not "just the same models", they are actually worse.

They seems to serve nerfed versions of them (models.dev):

- sonnet-4 without reasoning
- gpt-4.1 with 1/10 of its context window

I suspect they are also quantized to make them cheaper to serve 🙄

My first PR to #OpenCode has been merged 🎉

Now (from the next release) you can see what is the current git branch while you work with it

OpenCode finally minimises the pasted lines of text (just like Claude Code) 😍

This tool is getting better and better every day!

This is a month of Claude Code usage with Pro (20$/month) plan: I consumed 6x times how much I paid.

Friends with either Pro or Max plans have similar usage rate.

Either A) this is not sustainable for Antropic (enjoy while it lasts) or B) Price will raise soon C) Costs for Antropic must go down

I clicked the link and got this. No possibility to dismiss. I doubt this is legal at all for EU users 🙄

mine includes my basset hound 😅

I'm not sure ccusage tool (to check Claude Code spending) works as intended. Until yesterday I had ~58$ usage (in 3 days). Now I have just 28$. Something is definitely wrong.

Congratulations Twilio 🤬 making the existing client obsolete and preventing me from updating it!

Time to migrate everything away from this shit (and avoid any of their products from now on!)

TIL: I was still using the legacy ~/.gitconfig git configuration file instead of ~/.config/git/config

You can fix it with these two commands:

Why don't companies learn about consent?

Giving no possibility to choose "No" is consent abuse. Period.

Be better. Don't do this.

TIL: #Micro #blog platform now has a 1$/month plan which basically covers everything the old 5$ one had.

I already host my blog on GitHub Pages and build it with #Hugo but at this price I may consider it for smaller posts.

Check them at micro.blog

It looks like #ChatGPT started linking to the original sources of the information.

I never noticed this before. Well... this is not a bad news.

Friendly reminder: before you buy anything on Amazon, especially during Prime Days, install and use Keepa (or any other similar extension).

Most of the times the “discounted” price is not even lower the previous periodic discounts.

ChatGPT iOS app is not available in every country (like Italy, for example) yet….

but their website doesn’t know it!

So if you visit it from Safari on iOS it will propose and let you install the mobile app 😏
