Worrying reports of bird flu (avian influenza) are coming in, including an outbreak in Whooper Swans in the Fens. Other waterbirds are also being affected, and cases are rising.

Had a fantastic day yesterday at the @btobirds.bsky.social birdwatchers conference. Great talks and some great chats with fellow birdwatchers and even got to see and hear the whooper swans on Lough Neagh.

Archeological discoveries of a ring ditch and burnt mounts amoung others on the site of a proposed quarry make it an area of high archeological significance with a high potential of uncovering more features!
