‘Study finds grieving death of a pet can be as distressing as grieving a person’

I’ve seen quite a few critters pass away over the years 😢

For me, what was far worse than letting them go was watching them decline through time towards the inevitable. That is absolutely awful 😣

"Nutrition policy exemplifies how facts in food policy do not speak for themselves: they are interpreted, weighted, and sometimes excluded through political and institutional processes that reflect underlying interests and values."

The left often struggle to form consensus due to ideological division. Parties on the right are far more likely to compromise - one of the reasons why they are more often in power when compared to their progressive counterparts.

I find myself reading @irishexaminer.bsky.social more and more lately.

Our food sovereignty is at risk due to the extremely unbalanced output of Irish farms due to government policy. Not sure if this opinion piece really grasps the gravitas of the situation 🤔

The cat is out of the bag I’m afraid 😟 AI use in universities is ubiquitous, both by students AND staff.

Student use has to be particularly egregious for it be reported formally. The (unfortunate) solution is to assess students in a controlled environment: exams.

Lots of issues in our third-level institutions 🤨

Universities are desperate to get their hands on as much money as possible, with implications for the quality of education provided.

Many staff members are underpaid and on highly precarious contracts.

‘Mary Lou McDonald says Sinn Féin's support of fox hunting is the right choice’

Sinn Féin rowing in behind FFG to support organised animal cruelty undermines their stance on other justice issues. They’re a populist party that just wants votes and power.

It is so hard to make any progress on animal welfare given how much of society is based on their exploitation for profit.
