Biggest blind spot for otherwise good people is their continued funding of animal exploitation.

When you know just how unnecessary it is it’s a heavy burden to bear.

Thanks for speaking the truth Elaine. Many don’t want to hear it when there’s big money to be made.

We will have a panel of experts after Professor Svenning's contribution. This will inform a lot of our thinking on Rewilding going forward.

Only book a ticket please if you are definitely going! Thanks 👍

below for more information.

The bog might be small, but it's very wet, with lots of sphagnum mosses and sundew present.

Moyclare Bog is not on my list of sites I am working on but I'm going to pay a visit in the spring when I'm back out on fieldwork again.

…think the current housing crisis will obscure the real impacts of wind farms on property prices.

Lastly, I am largely ambivalent to wind farms, acknowledging the need to reduce energy emissions but conscious of the impact they have on local people and wildlife. Solar ☀️ is my preference.

5. The fact that mature wind farms (older than five years) don’t seem to affect property prices is an interesting finding. Are property owners/auctioneers anticipating lower demand near new farms?

6. As the author suggests further research is needed. There’s a good basis here to build upon. I…

4. The research doesn’t appear to be peer-reviewed, at least not the one I read (perhaps it’s still in the process of being published?).

…so around 800m. I think it makes sense that any industrial facility would have implications on house prices. This isn’t limited to wind farms.

2. The research scope is very narrow, focused on just one county: Galway.

3. The research draws heavily on papers by Heintzelman (whoever they are).

Edit: Here’s the study. I’m not sure if this is peer-reviewed, hence why it’s not appearing in the usual places. I haven’t read it so can’t comment on it yet.

Um… I’m currently evaluating literature on wind farms and community acceptance and I haven’t come across anything like this. If there’s empirical data on this I’d love to see it.

It’s almost like Palestinians have de facto zero human rights the way things are going out there.

I won’t buy Israeli products. Haven’t done for years. It’s the only thing I feel I can do in the face of their genocide. That and protest.
