I took one single day off to catch my breath and do prep work for my new job, go into the warehouse thing the next day only to learn that the rental trucks I loved had been returned and the place was slowing down work for the end of the year. Suddenly VERY THANKFUL I did not bank on this job lasting

Hivemind, I have a challenge. Popular culture is dominated by the car (car chases, cop dramas etc), helping us accept a car-dominated urban environment as normal. Can you think of any examples of popular culture highlighting bikes, trams, walking etc? I can only think of A Streetcar Named Desire.

INSTALL CLIP STUDIO 4 ON LINUX THREAD

Tired of Microsoft? You want to transfer to Linux but you can't get Clip Studio PRO/EX 4 to work?

I am on Nobara 43 with KDE Plasma, Wayland, Wine 10.3. It should work out of the box for Huion and Wacom tablets

Going from work in the tech sector to manual labour did certainly pose some challenges, but I'm glad to say that the amount of Alt Right psychos I've had to navigate around was not in fact much more than you have to smile and nod your way past in a techbro environment.

The best advice I can give to people struggling to find work in the tech sector right now: Give up.

After pivoting to working in warehouse stuff for like, less than a month, I've climbed the ladder to a permament position at a car dealership. There ARE jobs out there, we just have to rake a little.

There's a stamp we use to validate the paperwork for when stuff is put in the right place on the floor and I'm so so tempted to find one that does gold stars. I bet that's great for morale and people would be encouraged to remember how to fucking read.

been trying to replace doordash by being a home cook. unfortunately there is no good way to replace worker exploitation while doing everything at-home. the people on reddit suggest "getting a wife" but that just won't work—I already had one but she left me.

Warehouse work is weirdly infantilising. People seem to lose the ability to read and when you're not struggling with your shoelaces you're trying to remember where you put your dolly.

I recently started working in a warehouse and while I wouldn't say I've ever had a dysphoric bone in my body BUT there's been a lot of thoughts in my head that would be far more at home in a six year old girls mind, such as:
"Where is my dolly?"
"Who the hell took my dolly?" Etc. etc.

I really hope/assume this is a lukewarm take but the Liberal parties insistence on electric cars for 2035 is such a good example of bad policymaking. The solution is obvious, All-Hybrids by 2035 is achievable, but for some reason they'll die on the unachievable hill for the sake of showing effort.

Going to a Toronto Blue Jays game this weekend and need to do everything in my power to resist the urge to boo the american anthem and/or Guerrero JR but god is the temptation there for both...

Some important takeaways to add onto this from the whole debacle of that Cybertruck bombing in Vegas were that, regardless of your personal opinion of Musk, Teslas are an ethical nightmare. Tesla was able to remote unlock the vehicle, had camera tracking at chargers and detailed logs from the car.
