@tkingfisher.bsky.social you’ve posted this before, but I just can’t say enough how gorgeous these books will be. Illumicrate does a beautiful job on special editions and these are going to be stunning and reasonably priced.

I raised my kids to be independent, so now they are independent and I am a little sad about it.

Yeah, I had to do that with my sick orange cat because she had intestinal lymphoma and if she ate anything it produced horrible results downstream. I had to wash her a few times in the sink just her hind quarters. My assistance was very much not appreciated.

@angelfish29.bsky.social do you ever give your cats baths? I used to when I first got cats over 40 years ago, but learned that that is not necessary and stopped. Now my Poppy is getting old and sick and not cleaning her self. Her fur feels yucky and dandruffy. I’m thinking about it.

An interesting bit of self knowledge coming my way this weekend. My HVAC is broken and in Florida it is still very hot. I have chosen to stay home and roast in my own house rather than get a air conditioned hotel room. Cheapness wins out over comfort at least for now.

I think I’ve been without human companionship too long. I was showing my cat the new cat bed I ordered her, talking about what colors it came in etc and she got up and walked off. Maybe I need a person to talk to once in a while? I’m even boring my cat.

I had Target ship me 6 jars of pickles (these are pretty good BTW). They put all six jar glass jars in one thin plastic bag and tied a knot. This was loosely rattling around in a giant cardboard box via FedEx. My pickle karma is evidently good, no breakage.

Back spasms x 2 months. Sat up in a chair x1hr today and now my spine feels like this:
Getting an X-ray tomorrow. Not sure quite what to expect but somethin ain’t right in there. Uggh.

My 7yo cat suddenly got cancer and I had to euthanize her yesterday. On facebook I changed my profile picture to me holding her, nothing about her being dead. Now I’m getting tons of comments on how cute she is. This is definitely better than stupid rainbow bridge and god commentary.
