Para mi, "afternoon" termina a las seis y "evening" empieza. Nunca digo "good afternoon" o "good evening". Es demasiado formal.

That is a great take. Can’t remember the first episodes specifically, but Alan Partridge is a staple in our casa so I am sure I’ll know things by heart eventually.

He does show great understanding of some issues with his patridgesque “caricatures”

You are not sure of when, but you know they do do it.

Ha! Me pasa en UK pero no en España.

La tarde empieza a partir de las 12:00 del mediodía, y la noche cuando ya no hay sol.

Pero cuando alguien me dice de quedar “late afternoon” o “early evening” me matan. Llevo casi diez años aquí, y aún no me entra.

Yes. My SO has watched it a number of times and I have watched it once (so far). Did you like it?

I may be wrong, but it had quite a subtle, nostalgic hum to it. Like doing an emotional recap before closing a chapter.
