"Oh no! It appears the missile operators mistakenly loaded actual explodey type missiles to fire at the survivors instead of the floaty water wing missiles they were meant to launch at them. It's a real shame. The two look very similar. It's a mistake almost anyone can make."

Are you a Canadian who's tired of people who get tax free dollars from people wearing collars giving you advice that's against your best interest? Maybe coyly hinting at who you should vote for? Please consider signing this! www.bchumanist.ca/religion_cha...

As Montezuma once said, "When Europe sends us their people, they're not sending their best. They're thieves, they're diseased, they're religious nuts, they're rapists, and some, I assume, are good people."

Watching Sacramento. Was there some kind of "patchy beard and needing a haircut" Olympics I was unaware of? I can't tell Michael Cera and Michael Angarano apart.

Just watched Eddington. It really captures the vibe of 2020 -- BLM anger (whether or not any of the unjust deaths were local), COVID-19, mask arguments, paranoia, conspiracy theorising, and social media bubbles. All as a backdrop to a huge company getting what it wants while everyone's distracted.

France could have dominated the electronics industry if they didn't insist on giving their elections L'Appellation d'origine contrôlée.

Maybe heaven and hell* are places that started out exactly the same when they were empty, with the only difference being which people get sent where.

*I don't really believe in either place. It's more a commentary on how the community in a place can make it either nice or terrible.

If the AI datacenter electricity supply crunch didn't exist, the oil and gas industry would've had to invent it. They must either create a sudden, huge demand for immediately available energy, or accept a near future of managed decline. That'll de-monetize some billionaires and we can't have that!

The Young and the Restless has been on for how long!? Sorry. At some point, they just gotta call it The Restless.

Novel idea: a billionaire has figured out how to monetize dead labour.

Maybe death is actually just a loss of agency. Maybe that's why mediation is a good preparation, so you get used to sitting around and watching things happen around you without worrying about intervening.

Though I think we just take a dirt nap.

I for one think the Epstein Ballroom will be magnificent. I love the decor theme of “what if Uday Hussein ran a Ramada Inn.” And giving it a theme song everyone will associate with it is a stroke of brilliance! “Thank Heaven for Little Girls” is very catchy.

Who are these "innocent bystanders?" Do they vote? Is the US government acting in their name? Maybe they need to nut up and quit pretending to be bystanders.

There are two ways of looking at history and the arc of things:
- things are getting better (bring on the space communism and the flying cars)
- things are getting worse (eg people started in Eden naked and ignorant, and they've gotten worse ever since)

Who are in these camps?

- Well, the factory's still running, but nobody's buying the milk.

Google Photos is very nostalgia-flavored.
There are various reasons for taking photos:
- documentary/informational (is my keychain under the sofa?)
- nostalgic (for people who like living in the past)
- artistic (not that this is totally distinct)
My "remember when" reels are usually pretty silly.
