Mick has done a brilliant job leading the @RMTunion through some massive industrial struggles.
And he’s been an incredibly effective, recognisable and articulate champion of working people more broadly.

RMT general secretary Michael Lynch has made the decision to retire at the age of 63 after serving the union in many capacities. He was elected general secretary in 2021.

When I was younger, music education provided by my county music service gave me confidence and skills for life. County music services have faced cut after cut. It’s vital that today’s children have access to such services.
We are gravely concerned about Stirling Council's proposed budget cuts
These include cuts to the music service of around £250k, and the reduction of 5 full time equivalent teachers
This will have a resounding impact on both jobs and the children who use the service
