Hello there, shiny platform. I write books featuring naturalists, travel, history and romance. You may call it smut, but I call it #hotany.
Actually, no, it is not a compliment to my writing that my books were pirated to train AI. Sigh.

Tonight an unbelievable **34,000 people** gathered for our Denver rally to take on billionaires and win our country back.

This was the largest political gathering in Denver since Obama in 2008.

Also bigger than the 2024 DNC.

And the largest ever rally in Bernie’s career (and obviously, mine too).

We expected 2,000 people out in GOP-held Greeley, Colorado.

11,000 people showed up.

Something special is happening, folks. Now is the time to organize in every dimension possible and get to work.
Overflow crowd for Bernie/AOC rally in Greeley, CO — the small one today, big one is in Denver later

“My job is to resist giving up hope, to protect that flicker that motivates me to defend the wild places. Those petroglyphs remind me that others have endured. And nature will. Just as we will.”
The joy and the fury.
As a child, valuing our natural world was ingrained in me through experiences.

Happy Birthday, Derek Jarman. A good day to revisit this favorite. Someday I’ll make it to Prospect Cottage.

Need something uplifting? I am of the writers on this documentary airing tomorrow night on Rocky Mountain PBS. It’s about three communities, kids and educators finding a way to have hope about their future while facing the climate crisis.

We need Dems to use every procedural maneuver to grind things to stop and every media tool to raise alarm and allow public pressure to build.

Shut it the fuck down.

A democracy if we can keep it. This is where we try to keep it.

Not to be alarmist, but this is the most radical presidential action I've ever seen. He's straight up seizing Congress' budget power. What do laws matter if the mad king's whims dictate what gets enforced and where money goes?

It's not a policy memo - it's a revolution. Don't let it be a quiet one.
Trump is blowing up the Constitution and dismantling democracy before our eyes.

Freezing all federal grants is a radical transformation of the relationship between the President & Congress.

It’s illegal & dictatorial & Americans will die as a result.

The last time we were here, I started writing my first novel. And that is where I am again today. Except now it is my third book. This sign on my wall still applies.

My author 2024 wrapped:

Sold at least one book every month
Second book was released in October
Made three figures in royalties
Spent two weeks in South Africa doing research for book 3
Started writing book 3
Convinced myself not to quit

I tried to publish my historical romance series traditional several years ago. Agents and publishers loved my book but didn’t see a future for hisrom that didn’t follow the formula. So, I pivoted to indie. Two books out now that feature diverse characters, locations, and their own kind of HEA.

End of the year book lists always hit my imposter syndrome particularly hard, even though I know what goes on behind the scenes to create them. Indie press authors are just over here in the shadows churning out books for small, appreciative reader groups. #writers
