This election is proof that you do not need to pay attention to what the papers say. They are, as someone so eloquently put it, like a dying wasp.

The only time I hear about the papers is when we're moaning about them here. They are irrelevant.

The Irish state's role in housing today is to create scarcity. That is what the funds want. There is no such thing as a capitalist solution to a social necessity. Every time you blame a migrant for this crisis, a capitalist angel gets its wings.
As the govt blocks funding for major social-housing projects in Dublin, FF and FG councillors are pointing fingers at ministers. "Anybody that is not putting money towards housing, that is in politics, as far as I’m concerned, they shouldn’t be there.”

As many as 1,325 social homes in Dublin city are at an advanced stage, with planning granted – but now with no clear funding.

Based on the number of people I’ve seen posting racist, far right content we should maybe ban the over 50s too.
Serious consideration should be given to banning under-16s from using social media, similar to a law passed last year in Australia, according to Tánaiste Simon Harris

Once I went to a municipal beach club in Portugal where the council served beer, wine, food that you could eat on a sun lounger. Glad to see the notion of public luxury making its way to DCC gyms.

In an ever worsening housing crisis, SinnFein should be out chatting all day and all night about housing. What the Supreme Court says about a law that doesn’t apply anywhere on this island, should be none of their or our concern. Average rent in Belfast and Dublin is clean mad and getting worse

"All sectors of the public service, except defence, now employ more people than in 2013".

Yeah it's almost as if the recruitment freezes, pressured retirements and other staff cuts during austerity were a bad thing that needed to corrected almost immediately?

This is bad even by Ryanair's standards.

The airline recently announced it will start flying to Dakhla, which is part of Occupied Western Sahara.

Calling it Morocco is reinforces Morocco's claim that it owns Western Sahara.

More the occupation is Morocco's dirty little secret.
