This would be a truly groundbreaking move from Starmer's government, and something which is long overdue as a safeguard for our democracy. Really good to see.

They'd obviously need to apply it to Musk's proposed donation too, as that can't be allowed to go ahead.

This is depressing. PM appears to rule out youth mobility scheme with EU on ground “freedom of movement is a red line.” That makes no sense. It falls far short of “free movement” because it only allows individuals to come for a limited period & does not allow them to settle in UK or EU member state
Oh come on Labour - so depressing to hear Pat McFadden say UK has no plans for a youth mobility scheme with the EU. We have schemes with NZ, Australia, Canada, Japan, Iceland, Uruguay & more - only reason not to have one with EU is fear of right wing press. Such cowardice @bbclaurak.bsky.social
