Tonight’s project was polishing up these brass trivets for the kitchen which is turning out to (unintentionally) feature hexagons everywhere. The contrast is more apparent to the eye than the camera.

Backside is about as horrible as I thought it might be but it didn’t fail at least. This is because it was slightly too hot and chocolate hates overhangs.

Reasonable result. Got the alignment slightly off but it’s okay. Had to slow it down to 10% print speed on the ears to give it enough cooling time from the previous layer.

I redesigned the base trays in @FreeCAD as well. No wasted drawer space! There were some hiccups around not being able to get working mirrored sketch geometry, the shape binder thing being a mess, and the fillets sometimes making a non-manifold result, but we got there in the end.

Used it to throw together this ISO 30 tool holder label clip for the CNC. Idea is to use the flat to hold printed labels. When you put a tool in the CNC you take the clip off and put it in a rack by the operator console in the place corresponding to the pocket it’s in on the machine.
