I have been waiting for this for 4 years. It makes it possible to do all kinds of neat simulation stuff that otherwise isn’t possible without grids. #b3d #geometrynodes

Hot take: the last 24 seconds of Monster Mash aren’t good. The song is otherwise an iconic masterpiece.

I don't know what they did but the way the images load for the material documentation makes me want to never ever use material 3. Unacceptable performance for what's basically a static webpage. https://m3.material.io

Found a good way to attach a 3D-printed gear to a motor shaft. Timing pulleys are cheap and come apart pretty easily! #freecadfriday

An incredible out of context quote from “Careless People” was, “…I’m informed that Big Bird can’t take the stage after dark, and that Big Bird and his team are not prepared to do any more accommodating for Mark Zuckerberg.”

Love the image of Big Bird and his muppet posse being like “Nah, Mark.”

Needed a barrel to usb cable for a solar powered camera I installed at the new place. (Not solar powered by default) Not my proudest work but it that will be the first soldering done in the new place. Yes it looks like I forget the heat shrink but I had to […]

Me: Please don't use Chromium-based browsers, use Firefox instead. Google has way too much control over the web because of Chromium and they'll be sure to leverage that in order to benefit themselves.

Chromium: Hey all, we're getting rid of ad-blockers because it's cutting into our […]

Web design micro rant: It was unreasonable painful building a 24 hour material design theme time picker that respects all normal keyboard and mouse interactions. I don’t know why 24 hour time isn’t just a property on the default time picker.

Tonight’s project was polishing up these brass trivets for the kitchen which is turning out to (unintentionally) feature hexagons everywhere. The contrast is more apparent to the eye than the camera.

Too many physical products market themselves as having AI in them. AI is not a well defined term but my sense is that the general public sentiment is negative towards “AI” so it’s strange to use it for marketing. It’s also like saying, “this widget has ✨inefficient black-box-algorithms✨ included!”

I watched The Grand Budapest Hotel for the first time and now I really want to recreate the pastries. The packing is also a required part of the experience.

Good news: while the default configuration is still terrible and there are definitely some rough edges, FreeCAD 1.0 is actually usable. Some stuff like adding a text emboss to a body is enormously clunky but the basics at least actually work now.
