A lot of recipes lie because it takes a home cook making an unfamiliar recipe longer than it takes a professional cook or recipe tester. Another lie is excluding the prep time: the timer starts when you start recipe step 1, not when you start dicing the one cup of diced onion in the ingredient list.

I remember when there was a discussion on Twitter about Shein's manufacturing practices and some apologists invented all sorts of fantastical machinery and technology to avoid facing the more horrifying truth. Reminds me of this comedian's joke.
