#AmWriting an adult dark fantasy novel. Lover of speculative fiction, rich, thoughtful writing, learning new things and all things old and spooky.

Hello Bluesky!

I love #writing bizarre, mindbending, stylistically rich speculative fiction.

Think: Gormenghast, Piranesi, Neuromancer, The First Law, Between Two Fires.

Into novel writing? Aiming for #tradpub? I'd love to chat.
Close to hitting 30K words on the (2nd) draft. This is the closest I've got to having a novel-length draft I'd want to show people. I feel giddy - my muscles literally feel looser as I write. #writesky #writing

Late to the party, but this story by PH Lee is gut-wrenching and gripping.

If people demand that intellectual activity is only practical, they're demanding that all imagination can only be practical.

Today on Eruditorum Press, Last War in Albion returns with a chapter on Sandman and Neil Gaiman. Strap in. This goes hard. www.eruditorumpress.com/blog/the-cud...

Previously in The Last War in Albion: Alan Moore wrote Watchmen, which, for complicated reasons involving William S. Burroughs and the weak nuclear force, ended the Cold War and replaced it with a mag...

Learning to question yourself is itself a skill. Growing up conservative essentially gives you a degree in it.
I have a theory that people who grew up conservative or at least grew up in conservative households make better liberals in the end because they questioned their beliefs, unpacked their programming, and questioned that shit, whereas those who grew up liberal rarely question themselves.

Fourth Wing and its sequels may be cheesy and brashly commercial and questionably written, but they made me *feel* things on a gut level much more viscerally than a lot of modern SFF 💙📚 #booksky #books #sff
