On 8 July 2025, Tsongon Tsering was released from prison after over eight months’ detention for publicly exposing illegal mining in eastern Tibet. His release comes with strict conditions: no public or private speech “against the government,” no gatherings, and ongoing surveillance.

36 years ago, brave students and workers stood in Tiananmen Square demanding freedom, democracy, and justice. The Chinese government met their peaceful calls with tanks and bullets, but it could not crush the spirit of resistance.

Troops opened fire and used APCs to retake the Square.
There were thousands of casualties.

74 years ago, #Tibet was forced into signing the 17-Point Agreement — under threat, not choice. Today, #China still uses that document to justify its occupation. But coercion is not consent.Tibetans continue to resist Chinese occupation and the global Tibet groups are proof of that resistance.
