Never thought I’d quote Bret Stephens: (1) French is the official language of France, Spanish of Spain, Danish of Denmark.. & none of them are any less free and democratic for it. Democrats shouldn’t allow themselves to be baited by Trump into opposing it, which only serves his political purposes.

The idea that Tr@*p's betrayal of Ukraine should bump trans civil rights to a lower place on some progressive "priority list" is incredibly insidious and destructive. To go along with this is to give in to an evil strategy. There's never been a more important time than now to support trans rights.

On Election Day, I saw a guy (in Arlington freaking Massachusetts) waving a Trump flag with the words: Make Liberals Cry Again. This is the point. We have 2 stay focused. Things like cancelling holidays, arts funding, the random executive orders— what’s going to actually hurt ppl’s lives NOW?
