This is not a tragedy of nature. It’s a crisis caused by human choices — choices backed by billions of dollars in U.S. support.

We stand with Palestinians!
A January 6–linked flag is flying outside the U.S. Department of Education.

The “Appeal to Heaven” flag is tied to Christian nationalist movements, not history. That ideology does not belong in government.

We are saddened by the loss of Rob and Michele Reiner, legendary filmmakers who advocated for justice and documented rising Christian nationalism. Rob - a lifelong humanist - had a witty humor that was matched by his passion for social good. The Reiners will be greatly missed.

Trump-appointed cronies and their supporters just decided that the real problem in the military right now is… secularism?

Human Rights Day matters to humanists because dignity, safety, and freedom are not optional.

We show up for people pushed to the margins and work to make those rights real for everyone.

A #HumanRightsDay message from one of our heroes, Eleanor Roosevelt. Speaking in 1951 – just three years after the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights – she reminds us that human rights are not abstract ideals, but that protecting them is the work on which a peaceful world depends.

People are looking for belonging and meaning beyond the old institutions.

Humanism becomes a home when we live our values and show what community can be.

And we grow by building something worth joining.

Our ugly sweater doesn’t pretend. If the season brings book bans, forced piety, hate wrapped in scripture, and yes, golf, we might as well wear the truth.

Soft inside, loud enough to annoy the right people outside.

If “religious freedom” only applies to the groups you like, it’s not freedom. It’s a political shield for discrimination, and people fleeing violence are paying the price.

If we want consistent principles, we have to demand them: americanhumanist.org/nobanact/
