Sorry, I wasn’t trying to be an arse or anything. I used to work as a sales rep for a company based in Bedford. I lived in Hull and they all assumed everywhere was an hour away. It took me longer to get to Newcastle than Bedford so I tend to get a bit pedantic sometimes. Hope I haven’t offended.

I don’t think it was ever specified but Leeds is probably the most central city on Yorkshire. It’s still an absolute ball ache to get to the Lakes from there though with traffic. I go up there quite a bit. Although I’m more East Yorkshire

Yorkshire to the Lakes is a good 2-3 hours depending on traffic
