One way I have found to mourn someone is to set up a monthly sustaining donation to a mutual aid effort they cared about. If you can join me in honoring Alice Wong, @sfdirewolf.bsky.social with a sustaining donation today, please do. Thank you Alice, and I will not let the bastards grind me down.

something I will never understand is why NIMBYs feel entitled to being consulted when a shelter or transitional housing is being set up in their neighbourhood

do you screen every person in your neighbourhood before they move in? do you get consulted every time a house is built?

shelters, transitional housing, affordable housing, safe injection sites, etc. in a neighbourhood benefit everyone

when our most vulnerable are cared for and treated with dignity, we all benefit

seasonal reminder that there are always people in your neighbourhood that could use warm clothing

if you have any sweaters, coats, hats, mitts, boots, etc. in good condition, now is a great time to donate them to your local shelter, coat drive, community distribution group, or buy nothing FB page

One of the most beautiful things about the Irish is their respect for the arts. You find live music at most bars, I went to a literary pub crawl & saw monuments & museums dedicated to writers, poets, musicians, etc.

They understand the value of supporting artists & I wish Canada did, too.

but when Nova is up late playing BG3 on a work night, I'm the meanie for telling her it's bed time
