Hard to describe as a journalist how grateful I am to have a text-based app that does not suppress hyperlinks. I don’t know if people realize exactly how hostile the corporate internet has gotten toward news.

Voted no, of course - but I do want to report that the activism DID work and persuaded members.

Historically, NSFW creators and SWs are always the foundational users of any new social site, and historically, they're the first ones to get hidden/forced off once corporations start sniffin' around looking to make money. Use your dang moderation settings if NSFW bothers you and let folks be

The final piece of advice I would like to give to new folks tonight is that Bluesky will be what you make of it. When I came over from the former Twitter, I resolved to be more kind to others here than I was over there. That choice has made being here so much better. Keep it in mind for yourself.
