We are working hard to keep housing affordable in Edmonton.

When we launched the Affordable Housing Investment Plan, we set a bold goal: 2,700 new homes by 2026.

We’ve already delivered 2,922.

We’re aiming even higher: 4,652 homes by 2026.

We are building a more affordable future for everyone.

Today, I joined community partners from the Winspear, Qualico & Free Play for Kids to talk about how extending the Community Revitalization Levy (CRL) would benefit our city by supporting arts & culture, improving infrastructure, building homes, & creating more accessible spaces in the our core.

The CRL levy is a tool for municipalities to incentivize investment in neighbourhoods without adding new tax dollars.

Extending the CRL Levy by 10 years is expected to generate between $705 million and $975 million in revenue.
