Ha! Great question. Assuming he's identifying as media, I don't think we can blame Bob. Only 6% of requests came from media in the peak year, 2020-21, and they've generally ranged around 10-15% in the years since.

Most came from opposition parties:

Objections from Conservatives include the exclusion of pipelines and LNG.

MLA Scott McInnis suggested in the legislature that northern BC residents might welcome the fast-tracking of pipelines through the region which... seems to not take into account the history of pipelines in northern BC.

When I asked for clarification, I was told that "all COVID related requests... must go through communications" — essentially saying COVID FOIs are closed to media — before acknowledging that their comms person had asked them to open it as an FOI.

The NDP is currently sitting at just shy of 6 per cent of popular vote and three seats (leading in four more) after a difficult campaign.

There's more orange on this map than anticipated — though not as much as earlier this evening. And the night is still young.

I’m at a watch party for NDP incumbent Taylor Bachrach in Smithers, reporting for @thetyee.ca

Still early, but Bachrach currently leads Conservative Ellis Ross by a fair margin.

Polls strongly favoured Ross.

My burning question for a local Conservative candidate was whether he supports Poilievre's plan to reverse a tanker ban, making way for oil pipelines.
