Grounseed "The Origin" was a bonus album that came if you bought the full set. Ryu Takami is the main composer but no less deserving of your time.
I have no choice but to believe that 80's/90's JP game composers were simply built different.

JP PC games is a pretty unknown space to me so I hadn't heard of Umemoto until now. He's apparently considered one of the best composers of the era, likened to Yuzo Koshiro. (Ys, Streets of Rage, Etrian Odyssey)
Sadly Umemoto passed in 2011 at the age of 37.

Looking at some PC-98 soundtracks I came across a series of albums by Ryu Umemoto, so called "rare tracks" from his work on Eclipse, Desire, Xenon (not that one) and Grounseed. Games I know nothing about save that their soundtracks slap.

Welcome to Doll Town:
Extremely barebones demo. Open world with no content, combat stunlocks enemies, story has tonal whiplash, needs a run button. Wish the dev the best but this demo doesn't really tell me enough of what to expect from this game.

Tearscape:
Bloodborne by way of Zelda. Dodge rolls, leveling, corpse runs and key dungeons. Feels good for the most part. Keep an eye on this one if you want a different flavor of Zelda-like.
