We are the official resistance scientists of the National Institute on Aging at the National Institutes of Health. Aging doesn't discriminate, and we're coming for all of you! We want to see our siblings, Alt CMS and Alt NINDS, too!

We support great science to help the aging community. We understand a lot of the portfolio includes dementia research, but that's not all we do. Disinformation can occur about any comorbidity like heart disease, cancers, and diabetes, so let's keep open science a reality.
It's true. No more paylines at #NIH.

If PIs can be patient with GMs and POs, that would be great.
While the government was shut down, 379 NIH study section meetings (containing 24,380 grant applications) were postponed. NIH is committed to getting these reviewed, but please be patient and understanding with staff, as this is a complex and heavy lift.

As many of you know, more than one million federal employees have been furloughed since October 1, 2025. However, we never stop serving the people, near and far. @27unihted.bsky.social has collected 2,000 pounds of food and $20,000 for DC area food banks. #FEDStrong #NIHStrong

It appears the shutdown will extend to December, but we'll keep a close eye on this.
From Reddit:

Prediction is that the gov will finally reopen after Dec 2nd. Right now Mike Johnson won’t open the House bc he’ll have to swear in AZ Democrat Adelina Grijalva. When he does, that’ll give the Dems enough votes to push for the release of the Epstein files.
