Tonight, a large object that doesn't belong to our solar system is passing between the orbits of Mars and Earth. This unsettles me. We can map out every asteroid in our system and come up with "no hit" scenarios, but that is no longer enough to feel comfortable. A rock can come from deep space. 💥

I went to a similar function in 2010 over Christmas at Royal Albert Hall. It is an amazing experience. If I’m going to be in a city for Christmas, I always want it to be London!
Took 90 yr old mum to the Guy Barker Jazz Orchestra Christmas gig at the Royal Albert Hall.
50 piece band with guests belting out “You’re a mean one Mr Grinch” and rousing versions of Sing Sing SIng.
At the end of the gig she said, “They must be fucking knackered after that."
She liked it.
