It’s my birthday and I got some pretty bad news about my eldest dog today so I’m going to turn my attention to self promo! I’m trying to get to 2k by the new year so if anyone wants to bump me along with a reblog, I’d be grateful!! 🥲
Happy #porfolioday ! I'm Sam, a queer Philly based cartoonist making comics and character design/visual development with a focus on sci-fi and environmentalism. I love drawing girls, robots and messy, detailed worlds.

I'm especially looking to line up some short comics!

1/ Mark Carney has betrayed all of us by making a pipeline pact with Danielle Smith. A real nation-building project would expand the renewable energy of the future while creating thousands of jobs - powerlines not pipelines.

Hi Bluesky 👋

Small life update: I’m at the centre of a multimillion dollar lawsuit in Alberta launched by a failed candidate for Jason Kenney’s UCP

It may be the longest and most expensive media trial in Canadian history

I’m ready to go public about it and I want to share more details with you 🧵

if there was a rich person with the will, you could build the most incredible news organization that has ever existed just from the wreckage of this year alone.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

JD Vance claims that diversity weakens unions, as people end up distrusting each other and not organizing.

Let me tell you two menswear stories related to this claim. 🧵

still can't get over what we learned today that the actual story is elon musk just copied enough of wikipedia word-for-word for grokipedia to be useful but rewrote all articles related to him to be more favorable, leaving out facts he doesn't want people to see or talk about
I’ve never donated to Wikipedia before but I set up a small monthly donation as a fuck you to the world’s richest psychopath.
Elon Musk takes aim at Wikipedia
Musk has denounced Wikipedia as "Wokepedia" on X and urged people not to donate to the platform.

You should support this show cuz it's really good.
Oh lordy, we're getting close to our second goal of $10k a month on the series patreon.

More support we can get = More people I can hire / I can pay folks more to stay on longer = Faster ep production!

Giorgia Meloni, Italy's PM, is a far right fascist who supports Israel, but the general strike Italians carried out 2 days ago scared the shit out of her. Strikes are the most effective way to get politicians to do what you want them to do. Shut down profit and they stand to attention.

There's no pipeline on Ottawa's first list of 5 'nation-building' projects--but mostly because no companies have actually pitched one. Yet pipelines are still held up by many as a magic bullet for countering Trump. They're not. My take for Troy Media

Mark Carney and liberals doing so much back pedalling on issues involving the environment, energy, and AI is so politically and emotionally draining. I'm not looking forward to hearing more about their housing plan with how disappointing this government has been.

Either I get an absurd upswing in Twitch Subs by the 15th(Which is unlikely) or take on even more commissions.

Being the more reliable option, I'm going to be opening more commissions soon and I'm going to need as much as I can get.

Trump's trade war has reinforced the need for ambitious industrial policy as a tool in Canada's economic nation-building. Here's my summary for @irpp.org's Policy Options on the challenges, and the opportunities, of this moment: policyoptions.irpp.org/2025/09/targ.... #cdnecon /2
Targeted industrial policy is crucial to fulfilling Canada’s value-adding potential
It is essential to help our value-added industries survive Trump and reverse the trend toward precarious over-dependence on resource extraction and export.

I'm so tired of seeing inkling of us going down the wrong direction on energy & AI. I don't think the virulent parts of project 2025 will be discussed, i do fear for federal employees being slashed for budget. But silver lining Kevin Rudd being there as a third party perspective is fantastic.

Could make an absolute banger 2D movie with $10mil!

I think that's what's really overlooked about going 2D these days!
2D animation is booming in theaters. In China, the film Nobody is outgrossing many of Hollywood's recent CG films—on a $10< million budget.

It's only one example. As 2D films rise, Hollywood's decision to kill them off looks shortsighted. We explore:
