BIG NEWS: Congresswoman-elect Adelita Grijalva will finally be sworn in as a member of Congress tomorrow.
She is likely to be the 218th vote on the Epstein discharge petition, which would force a full vote to release the Epstein files in their entirety.

Know who votes by mail? Active serving military and their families overseas. I know it’s not 1930 anymore and a lot of people would LOVE to take us back to that time, but modern voting systems SHOULD be able to handle variances in mail-in-ballot voting without crashing voting paradigms/SCOTUS fight.
In a case with major implications for voting access, the Supreme Court will soon decide whether a mail-in ballot must be received by Election Day to count. The decision could strike down laws in 16 states allowing late-arriving ballots.

A federal judge permanently blocked Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops in Portland, Oregon, ruling it violated the Constitution and federal law. The order marks the first permanent block on the president’s military use in a Democratic-led city.

I don’t need to hear one more damn thing about Elon Musk or trying to “understand the right”. I’m seriously OVER trying to make sense of the insanity and awfulness of others. SERIOUSLY.
Some on the right, including Elon Musk, are misinterpreting the game Dungeons & Dragons—and the intention behind its original story—to further a racist agenda, @adamserwer.bsky.social argues:

Where is “center” between oligarchy and SNAP benefits, food stamps and homelessness?
Where is “center” between #cult45 and the sanity of the rest of us?

We honor veterans’ service, but too often overlook them when their invisible wounds lead to the justice system. In @starsandstripes.bsky.social, CCJ Veterans Justice Commission Director David “Mac” MacEwen shares how government can better support them: www.stripes.com/opinion/2025...
We thank veterans for their service. Why don’t we support them when they stumble?
We’ve seen encouraging signs our government is prioritizing veterans who stumble, but more is needed, says David MacEwen, a retired brigadier general.

Many Americans are hurting right now because of the shutdown, but caving to Republicans won’t end the hurt.

A party that comforts the afflicted and afflicts the comfortable —not a party that buckles and capitulates.
