Haven't touched my small sketchbook in months and i am trying to get back into casual non-client drawing. Nice to get 30 mins in this morning and to not think that hard about it.

This property is so cool and imaginative. Since this entire home feels like a portal to another world, we wanted to create a mural that feels like a spiral portal to a dreamy, starry sky for this attic gathering space and playroom. ✨🌙

August felt like an entire month of Sundays 🌇 Looking forward to this end-of-summer season and start of fall.

This is a personal project that I have been wanting to undertake for years, and I finally brought it together this past month: Golden Hour Wrapping Paper and Stationery.

The imagery depicts nature native to North America as well as intimate everyday summer scenes and moments of people that the artist witnessed while traveling in 2025 in Minnesota, California, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ontario, Canada. The image has a colour palette that evokes sunsets and warmth: gold, yellow and orange, with a few pops of sage green, light lavender, and a warm chocolate brown. There are watercolour washes around the image, and the image has a layering of elements that feels reminiscent of Allegra Lockstadt’s sketchbooks. Imagery in the work consists of: a couple shopping at a farmers market, Golden raspberries on a vine with a silhouette of a butterfly hovering near by, a hand covered in bandaids, a monarch butterfly resting on someone’s hand, a line drawing of a tree, a hand holding 2 ice cream cones, a plastic lawn chair, various drawings of milkweed and milkweed flowers, a parent and child playing together, a bird perched on a branch, a femme person smelling a flower, and a set of hands making a heart shape. So much of Light Over Boundary is about visible and invisible public and private spaces, and how we relate to them. Picture houses at night with warm glowing interiors, seen against a cool blue night exterior; there is a contrast between inside and outside.
