Watching Shetland from tonight and a guy just got charged fifteen quid for fish and chips?! In a normal chip shop?! I don’t eat fish so I’ve not been in a chippy recently but is that where we are as a society now, fifteen quid for fish and chips?!!

I’m keeping an eye on the rental listings at the moment (I want to see how much our old rental house goes up for, but she’s currently redoing the main bathroom so it’s taking a while) & it’s reminded me that even when I’m house-poor and annoyed at the M6 noise (SO ANNOYED), at least I’m not renting.

I feel like I’m coming down with a cold but we have a reservation at Seven Sins on Friday, which we had to make six weeks in advance, over Instagram DMs, and they just won Lancaster’s Restaurant of the Year so there’s no way we’re getting in again if I miss this. Do not be sick!

I am of the simple opinion that stuff like this is the peak of human endeavour and we can cut it out with the missiles and demonic computers in favour of getting really good at a cool little thing

Why is Cody interviewing Timothée Chalamet on his podcast this week. Like. I like him. But please never put that man in a wrestling ring because if any wrestler trips and falls on him by accident he'll be snapped in half. Even next to Cody he looks like a Polly Pocket.

I don’t know whether to be offended that both cats have abandoned me for other bed choices or to be relieved because now I can actually sleep in a normal position.

I bought the hot honey chicken tenders from M&S because the label said mild and have discovered - as I do every time, why do I even try - that I experience even mild spice as pure punishment. I would literally die on that show where they eat increasingly nuclear hot wings.

Turns out my housemate doesn’t have the actual deposit, just the email saying it was being repaid. So at least it’s not just me. 😅
They did say it could take up to seven days but if my housemate got his back immediately, that makes me concerned (and annoyed).

They still haven’t paid my house deposit back and my housemate implied his arrived instantly after I went through the process so now I’m just fretting. I did it all! I put my own bank details in and checked them and did the 50/50 split! Give me my money. 😭

I think at this point I’m just dragging myself by my fingertips towards Christmas and I have nothing left. The 2025 tank is dry.

This blows my mind a little because yes, I am of the opinion that many people go unavoidably insane between the ages of 13-17 and also social media is the bad place but… idk. 16 seems pretty old.

I almost had a non-productive weekend of playing Pokemon, til I felt guilty and actually went and stripped the paint the last owners slapped all over the mould around the bedroom window. & then I filled the (many) holes I'd gouged in the plaster & painted the office window I'd already stripped.

Nova’s come back clearly having been in another fight (soaking wet where he’s been bodyslammed into a puddle) and the cut on his ear that was healing as a mostly-invisible notch is now a big missing V. 😭 He was so perfectly pretty. Ffs Nova.

I'm eating my dinner in the orangery as a reclamation of territory now it's not super freezing and Padme is so confused that I'm on the opposite side of the lounge window.

I don't know why I expected this oil-filled radiator to be smaller but er, at least it night keep us warm eating in the orangery at Christmas?

I had to get up out of my lovely warm & cosy bed to eat toast so I could take painkillers (yay cramps) and I have Activated the cats. 🙃

Aw, I did think it was random that Cody got added into Punk’s War Games team but I’ll be sad if he misses Survivor Series altogether now. It was my first ever PPV waaaay back in the day so it’s my nostalgic favourite and I like the War Games format; I thought this match would be fun.
