cats, occasional tennis, cats, books, cats, stationery, wrestling, and let’s face it, more cats. same panic, different disco. eat the rich.
The humidity starts going up again as soon as the dehumidifier stops running which is Another Problem but I suspect that won’t be fixed until I get new windows, so. In the meantime my solid little dehumidifier keeps trucking on.

I know it’s too close to the river and I fully expect that estate to be underwater in twentyish years, I do. But man, I wish I could afford a house with that much space.

Also discovering that the windows definitely need replacing and worrying about how much mould there is was a lot.

I hope his ear doesn’t look too awful when it heals. He’s so pretty, torn ears would be sad.

He hasn’t lost a fight in years and he’s definitely feeling pretty mad about it. Not as mad as I will be if you cost me unexpected and unnecessary money in vet bills, Nova!!!!

I cleaned his ear with Hibiscrub (over Very Loud protests, despite gratuitous use of Churu) but I didn’t notice his toe beans until he was licking them and I’d already poured it away. 😑 Hopefully that’s the extent of it and he doesn’t get another abscess anywhere; I can’t deal with vet bills 😭

I thought buying a relatively new house would mean FEWER PROBLEMS but apparently it really is possible to fuck up a house in 20 years.

Not just mould damp, like literal 'This wall is wet' kind of damp. Not loving the immense amount of rain we've had dumped on us today but at least it's finding all the problems. So many problems. Sigh.

*crazes, not crates. Does anyone think that autocorrect has got even worse in the last year or so? It insistently changes my words to ones that aren't what I typed, even if I spelled it correctly. (But I just typoed spelled as 'spell3d" and it didn't correct it. 🙃)

The window guy told me acoustic trickle vents are £175 each but I just found one online for £42.99 so he might be taking the piss. Regardless I am losing my mind because I can’t sleep with background noise and even though the M6 is an estate, a road, and a large field away, the noise. never. stops.

Okay, I feel better that I’m not spending £25k now. 😅 Still ridiculous though, it does feel like they’re taking advantage of everyone needing them.
