That getting together with people irl can make a difference.

This is over a year old, but maybe will remind you of how universities began tightening their rules regarding ‘freedom of expression’

Yes, I lived it firsthand in your country. My neighbours there initially considered me an ‘exception’ and went to great lengths to try to convince your govt to allow me to stay. They got to know me and some of them changed their minds.

Also seems to me that you are guilty of your initial accusation. Rather than engaging in any real dialogue that indicates listening, you are going to die on your hill of self righteous indignation. You don’t seem to want to engage or build bridges.
December 24, 2025 at 3:37 PM
Um, where do you get your info? The encampments were hardly ‘allowed’ either… you missed the arrests, the beatings, the expulsions, the dismissals?
December 24, 2025 at 3:32 PM

December 24, 2025 at 3:14 PM
Selective outrage and self interest. We want to believe we are good people, without acknowledging all those who pay so dearly for our comforts—never mind sacrificing any of them to be a little closer to what we purport to value.

That, plus contributing to the desired narrative of the post WW II Hollywood propaganda machine.
