Oh, also? The people who say they would do these things if asked?

Accessibility you have to request over and over is not accessibility. Just do the damn thing.

There was a library that planned to put J-M adult fiction in a section up six stairs. “Disabled patrons can just ask staff to get it.”
I think about this all the time watching people dismiss alt text and masks. Two simple acts of help folks can’t be fussed with because our society has told them they should never be inconvenienced by “lesser” people. It’s OUR responsibility to adjust to a world that doesn’t include us.

That’s shit.

When you watch these heartbreaking videos showing the cruel and thuggish behavior of ICE agents, remember that these people are not being FORCED to commit these acts — they do so willingly. They could quit their jobs at any time. They could say “enough!”

ICE agents CHOOSE to do what they do.

With Handmaids Tale people focus on the shock of the mass rapes in the book and the show.

But how the regime came to be in power in that book keeps me awake at night because it is playing out in very intricate detail in our real lives right now.

You vote to confirm RFK Jr., the king of anti-vax conspiracies, but then lose your mind when your state stops promoting vaccines? You can’t have it both ways. Cutting school vaccine programs hurts parents, kids, & public health. Pick a side. #VaccinesSaveLives

LIBRARY
I want to remind everyone that your local library is both physical AND digital.

You hate streaming everything because the price is ridiculous? Library.

You hate ads because they're every 3 mins or less? Library.

You want to reduce your digital footprint? Library.

You want sourced info? Library.

Christian nationalists twist faith into a tool for power, dehumanizing marginalized groups and endorsing leaders and policies that contradict core Christian teachings. It’s a direct betrayal of genuine faith, exposing what they truly worship.

I've seen a lot of posts lately saying that to support a library, you should get a card. Other things you can do:

1. Be promiscuous in using that card
2. Go to board meetings
3. Join the Friends
4. Demand the books that represent you, you can challenge absent books as much as present ones
5. Donate

We're torn between the internet’s promise of connection and its capacity for cruelty. This post explores how platforms manipulate our time, attention, and empathy, turning cries for help into spectacles and tragedies into content.

Thanks for reading.

Subtitles aren’t just for deaf or hard of hearing players. They’re important for players in loud environments (who can’t use headphones), non-native speakers who rely on text to follow dialogue, and many neurodivergent folks who struggle to focus or process audio quickly. Just to mention few.

It’s December 1st and we should all pay homage to Rosa Parks today. On this day in 1955 she decided not to give her seat up on a bus in Alabama, and well the rest is history. We are all going to need to channel our Rosa Park’s for the next four years! Thank you Rosa for showing us how to #Resist
