This book is riveting and so, so infuriating. It follows 5 families in Atlanta who are struggling to remain housed and paints deeply compassionate portraits of each unit. It reads almost like a novel but is outstanding journalism

You shouldn’t have to wait until something happens to you to start caring. Empathy isn’t supposed to be exclusive. It’s meant to reach beyond your personal experience.
It's time to wake up. What's happening in Los Angeles is not just about immigration or California. This is about defending the Constitutional freedoms of everyone in every state.

Currently immersive reading Natural Beauty By Ling Ling Huang & for it being her first novel…. It’s quite a masterpiece. The prose… the underlying messages and the atmospheric writing … it’s all very well executed so far.

Bought UK books from Waterstones & Blackwell’s thinking I was doing great by not supporting Amazon… then thought to ask/look up & learned they’re owned by a US hedge fund that donated heavily to conservative PACs & lots in lobbying. 😞 Guess it’s indie bookshops and the library from here on out.
