Just brought @galaxybot.thedisco.zone to Bluesky! This is the same bot who lives in our @ipfs.tech Discord channels. Feel free to use it for uploading small data to web3.storage and for checking the status of CIDs.

I wanted to follow on Bluesky people I follow on Twitter but it was tedious to do manually. So I made a tool to help with the process :)

Really good thread on the personal data repository model.

Also: pouring one out for @dholms.xyz and the "Ok, sure, we'll just slightly design another self certifying data structure with different trade offs"
every user in atproto has a signed data repository, which is quite similar to a git repository. changes get written in commits and each repository maintains a history (commit log)

we do that because the network is largely pull-based, and maintaining the history makes catchup sync efficient

have you read this post i wrote on composable moderation?

the first layer is automated. the second is manual, i.e. human mods making decisions at the server level. the third is community labeling

https://blueskyweb.xyz/blog/4-13-2023-moderation
Composable Moderation
A customizable, composable approach to moderation that prioritizes safety and gives users and developers more control.

i do and i have

but i’m sure there will be cases where it looks like they’re engaging in good faith and i won’t know what to do, and everyone will start yelling at me. the moderation policies here are not going to be “ban whoever the loudest group hates”

After many long nights & weekends, super excited to announce the launch of waterlily.ai - an ethical AI-Art platform that addresses key issues around attribution, consent & revenue for creators in the digital space by compensating original creators with micropayments. 👉t.co/pLP5v2hQMX

here’s my own definition of web3: user-generated authority, enabled by self-certifying web protocols.

Fyi, Bluesky has a web app! It's https://staging.bsky.app. For an MVP it works great and is pretty functional.

Kudos to the Bluesky team!

hello devs!! say hi to @atproto.com 👋

we’ll be using this account to share *your projects* that you’re building on top of atproto! the bluesky team also gets into some pretty interesting technical convos deep in the replies, and @atproto.com can broadcast that info further 🗣️
The AT Protocol, or atproto, is a new foundation for social networking which gives creators independence from platforms, developers the freedom to build, and users a choice in their experience.
