Who is funding these misconceptions? GMOs have decreased farmer's options when it comes to seeds, concentrating the business into the hands of only 4 companies. And a "crossing operation" costs no more than simply growing a crop. 🤦♀️
hybrid crops are typically either infertile or they don't breed true so you would never get the same hybrid in the second generation. This means that farmers are dependent on a crossbreeding company usually unless they put a ton of effort and money into a crossing operation

I have been on the UBC farm for 3 weeks now and wow - it's already been so healing for me.
After burning out in tech and having my love of design beaten out of me, working with and on the land with such wonderful people has been everything I needed. I have energy again, I'm inspired again. Thankful
