In Liverpool this weekend.

“Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted; the indifference of those who should have known better; the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most; that has made it possible for evil to triumph.”

TUC - Are you seriously celebrating this nonsense?

What happened to day one protection? and the pledge/promise they made during the election?

Whose side is TUC on? Union Members or Saving Keir Starmer?

“The Marsh Farm estate in Luton was hit by riots in 1992 and 1995. Today, residents are transforming the estate through grassroots community organising. They’ve transformed a derelict farmhouse into a community hub and now they’re pioneering a new approach to local democracy.”

🚨BREAKING: BMA staff enter into pay dispute with their employer over 'hypocritical' 2 per cent pay offer.

The BMA heavily criticised the Government over a pay award to doctors of 2.5 per cent, but has offered their own staff less.

April 2022 Income Tax Threshold £12,570
April 2031 Income Tax Threshold £12,570

Should be about £16,970.

Meaning every person earning £16,970 or more is paying £1,231.86 more in tax.

Threshold freezes are a tax on the poorest.

I know who Nus Ghani MP is - not because we always agree - but because she’s been serving her constituency (as well as lewks) since 2015.

Who the hell is Lucy White?!

Ah, a quick google search reveals her as a rentagob for GB ‘news.’

I know which one is qualified to chair the budget debate.

So 20% VAT pushes up prices by 15%.

Sure as 💩💩 Uber and other apps won’t suck up the other 5% so it will be left to workers to suck up a 5% reduction in their wages. That are already squeezed to a minimum by the apps profiteering.

The government’s plan to add 20% VAT to private-hire rides will push fares up and reduce demand. Riders end up paying more, and drivers face fewer trips and less work. This policy helps no one on the ground.

What happened to TUC £15 hourly wage?

And why are we accepting crumbs?
November 25, 2025 at 8:50 PM
I just spoke with two care workers who earn £12.21 an hour. I asked them about the planned 50p increase to £12.71 in April. Both said this is not enough, given the current cost of living.

They each said a more accurate and fair wage would be £13.80 to £14.00 an hour.

I remember when I left school, in 1981, my hourly wage was £1.01 an hour as a 16yo apprentice electrician.
Wonder what the equivalent would be today?

Increase is nice but still not enough - what happened to £15 p/h hourly wage now?
