this is a perfectly stated embodiment of how so many filmmakers have come to see the artifice of film as something to hide and in doing so paradoxically makes their movies look and feel incredibly artificial

Where does the logic that having dialogue with Nazis get it's foundational belief from? Are there any studies that show this is actually a good thing? Why do people believe this myth?
All these posts on Twitter about how migrating to Bluesky is "ceding" it to fascism and how we "owe" it to ourselves to keep dialogue going with people there...
