I'd say you want to keep the length (or trim it however much) but lose some volume. You probably want some light layers.

I think all the time about a response I read to why papers didn't cover the first No Kings protest, and it was basically that it wasn't "newsworthy" unless there was violence.
Hundreds of thousands of people protesting? Boring, no story there.
