It is wild to me that the Chinese embassy is posting videos of Ronald Reagan talking about how tariffs are destructive economic policy compared to free trade while the US govt is attacking universities & scientists while looking longingly at backbreaking factory work as the future.

America’s biggest problem is now a culture of resentment, where being angry at others drives everything.

Imagined grievances lead to self-harm like tariffs, anti-immigrant policies, and gleefully firing essential government workers.

It’s Brexit on steroids, fueled by spite over sense.

I am deeply worried by the withdrawal of the US from the World Health Organization. I worked at WHO for ~2 years at WHO's Global Programme on AIDS, a worldwide response to the HIV pandemic & international cooperation was critical. The US should not withdraw from WHO's global health cooperation.
