one of the many incomprehensible things about the british class system is how neatly and expensively you’re meant to dress at different levels of wealth. some of the poshest old money people I’ve ever met had holes in their clothes because they had no need to show off that they were rich

a few years ago I got rid of my (tbf somewhat broken) teenage stereo system thinking I’d be streaming stuff forever. I’ve just rebuilt a hifi out of hand-me-downs from my old man and will be listening to vinyl again before the end of the week
