is the issue that there's not a CDC recommendation to re-dose generic adults who've had a single dose? if so, there is a recommendation that you need two doses for international travel, so you could try saying you have upcoming travel plans

they have a showroom in lower manhattan where they'll take your measurements (and tell you what needs to be changed if the first shirt isn't quite right), I've been very happy with them

unfortunately tariffs have now hit their prices and I can't really justify the new shirts I wanted :-/

I’m comparing to NJ, NYC, the Bay Area, and CT; I’ve never gotten the feeling that I did in the UK

I don’t actually agree with this. even a decade ago, synagogues in London kept a much lower profile than in nyc, to the point where you wouldn’t know what the building is if you weren’t looking. a synagogue near Glasgow wouldn’t let me attend services at all without a background check

The “translated” orcish conversations we see mostly have them referring to him with euphemisms (“the Eye” “the Tower”) iirc. Wonder if it can be read as an extension of naming taboos; the same way bears and gods have their names elided in classical texts.

I see that @whitehousehistory.bsky.social put out a statement yesterday stating that they were able to complete a “comprehensive digital scanning project” to document the East Wing, and that the historic artifacts have been preserved and stored.

I think I finally understand the Chanukah story, and why it's called that. I don't have a cultural metaphor to reach for here besides "slaughtering pigs in the Temple"
Breaking News: President Trump is having the White House’s entire East Wing demolished to make way for his $200 million ballroom. The project is far more extensive than he initially let on.
