📣 It’s been a productive few days for our group!
💡Our new paper in 𝘊𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩 & 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 shows that lead nitrate drives NRF2-dependent metabolic reprogramming and proliferation in hepatocytes.

ESR1 Activating Mutations Confer Metabolic Vulnerabilities in ER+ Breast Cancer
Abstract. Endocrine therapy (ET) is the standard of care for estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) breast cancer. Point mutations in the ligand-binding domain of the gene encoding the estrogen receptor (ES...

Ecstatic to share out latest research looking at the role of mitochondrial ABHD11 in controlling T-cell responses. We think this may be a viable target for autoimmunity. Please do give it a read, we would love to hear your thoughts.

Mitochondrial ABHD11 inhibition drives sterol metabolism to modulate T-cell effector function - Nature Communications
α/β-hydrolase domain-containing protein 11 (ABHD11) is a mitochondrial hydrolase, and its expression in CD4 + T-cells has been linked to remission status in rheumatoid arthritis. Here the authors repo...

.🧬We looked for a CD44:SLC1A2 fusion in breast cancer. The data said no. Instead of shelving it, we published.
📢 Now out in @SpringerNature MCB: link.springer.com/article/10.1...
Negative results matter. Transparency matters. Proud of this one 🥳! #OpenScience
CD44 and SLC1A2 are commonly regulated but do not form a fusion transcript in ER+ breast cancer - Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry
Endocrine therapy (ET) is essential for managing ER+ HER2− breast cancer; however, resistance remains a significant clinical challenge. This study investigated whether CD44-SLC1A2 gene fusions, report...
