🙌 I'm new to creating comics but I love it as a medium and have been learning a lot about them this past year. I'm excited to share with yall what I'm working on soon!!
YES. It really drives home that it’s a text. Every line, every brushstroke, every angle is the artist’s handwriting. Good comic art activates the imagination the way we’re taught to glean meaning from combinations of letters. I love comics.
This might sound silly, but one of my favorite things about comics as a medium is its limitations. Its purely static visuals and the challenge of trying to accurately portray motion, texture, sound, heat, etc in a way that isnt just telling the reader but trying to get them to feel it, is so fun
